Survived a Tornado

I may have left you hanging at the end of the last post.  You probably asked, "why are they staying in a hotel when they have an apartment?" Well, if you haven't heard, we have ROOMMATES. Awesome right?  Isn't that why you get married, so you don't have to have roommates anymore? So we felt it was appropriate if had a little privacy our first week of marriage. We stayed in a Marriott pretty close to Michael's office, and I hung out in the hotel all day.  They gave us a room with two double beds...  I guess it is a good thing we like to cuddle. Long story short, we ended up moving rooms a number of times...

We ate some delicious food that week (honeymoon), and then on Wednesday night, there was a TORNADO. (although it may have been just a really bad storm, but we're sticking with tornado.  It hit right as we sat down at a Mexican restaurant. Then right as our food was served, the power went out.  So we had a nice candlelit dinner and watched the wind blow trees over, literally.

this is not chicago, or what the tornado here looked like

When we got back to the hotel, the power on our side of the building was out.  They gave us some glow sticks, and the next day, we moved rooms again. This storm left a large percentage of the north suburbs without power for a least 4 days, nutty. At least we can say we survived a tornado!

p.s. I'm trying to be better at taking pictures...
