Road tripping on I-80

Let me just start off by saying WE LOVE CHICAGO! There is way to much to do, and we have way to much fun doing it.  I finally figured out how to get pictures from my camera onto the computer, so I think that I will have to make a couple posts to fill you in on everything we have been up to! I will start with our first week as a married couple.

June 17:

  • We got married
  • We partied
  • We stayed in the Marriott Park City
June 18:

  • We woke up later than expected
  • Stopped by the Swing/Dudley residence for some brunch
  • Finally left on our road trip at about one o'clock (later than expected)
  • Luckily, we had a nice new Accord (HUGE thanks to Julie and Russ :)
  • Drove through Wyoming, boring
  • Drove through Nebraska, even more boring
  • Stopped in North Platte, Nebraska right in time for Nebraskaland days!
We had never heard of this, but it might just be worth the drive again to get the full experience
June 19:

  • Left North Platte early (9 a.m...), ate some breakfast with some cowboys, and then got back on the road.
  • Made it through Nebraska's awful roads, and reached Iowa.
  • Iowa drivers are awful, worse than Utah
  • Passed the largest Dairy farm we had ever seen.  There had to be at least 1 million cows, all standing a foot apart.
  • Passed Mitchellville (shout out to our brothers)
  • Ate lunch at Granny's Kitchen at THE WORLD'S LARGEST TRUCK STOP!
There was a museum and everything.
  • Eventually made it through Iowa (we did not enjoy Iowa) and then to Chicago!
  • Michael was a trooper and drove the WHOLE way, all 22 hours.
  • We checked into our hotel for the week, and were grateful to be done with our road trip.
